St. Patrick School
Chatham, NJ
When it was time for Saint Patrick Grammar School to replace its windows, they called on AAWD. Unlike many of our projects that are fully occupied while work is underway, as a grammar school, work was contracted to be performed when the school was on summer recess, so timing of deliveries and installation was critical.
The work required removing existing vinyl windows that had outlived their life cycle and replacing them with new Heavy Commercial Double Hung Aluminum windows. These windows also had an insulated glass transom above with a prairie grid design feature to give the overall building a more modern look. The lower sashes on all windows had opening control devices for security purposes along with obscure glazing and specialty E-Z Lift balances for ease of use.
The successful completion of several hundred windows was achieved much to the delight of the entire school board, who loved the new look of the school. The board commented, “they were worried about the entire process, but John assured us we had nothing to worry about… and he was right!”
