Work progressed quickly at Dolley Madison Apartments in Virginia, even though it was a project that entailed theremoval of existing French doors with sidelites, followed immediately by the installation of new patio sliding doors. This resulted in a complete interior and exterior change of appearance and operation of the doors. In all, more than 1,100 new doors and sideliteswere installed. And like our crew’s last project in Rhode Island, this was also a large, occupied space project. Needless to say, to seamlessly complete such a project, it takes a great supplier, such as Crystal Window & Doors, who can meticulously meet our installation schedule with their production, logistics, and on-time deliveries.
Occupied space window & door replacement projects require extra care and attention as the resident is still living in the space while work is underway. After an extensive search, the management company was unable to find a local window and door contractor who had the skills and crew to handle a multifamily replacement project of this size. At this point, they reached out to their personal network of contacts who suggested they speak with AAWD. Following several conversations and visits to the property, a sample installation was performed and accepted by the owner, with AAWD given the green light to proceed.
